School Trips

Children are given the opportunity to take part in visits to places of special interest which form an important part of the curriculum. They are organised as part of topic work as a stimulating centre of interest or starting point for a particular historical, geographical or environmental study.

We also offer year 6 an opportunity for a residential week away. The school follows the strict guidelines laid down by the L.E.A. on school journeys. The obvious benefits to the children and success of these visits are very apparent. Children are well prepared for these study visits and a parents’ information meeting is arranged beforehand. Other year groups sometimes have the opportunity to stay in school overnight as part of a project.

Charges & Remissions Policy

No pupil will be excluded from any of the school’s activities on the grounds that parents are unable to contribute. However, we remind parents that confirmation of school educational visits/journeys and other activities taking place will depend on there being sufficient contributions to cover the costs. In the event of any financial difficulty surrounding a school activity please see the headteacher privately and in confidence.
