Reading is a key skill that forms the foundation of learning. We are passionate about ensuring that all children become confident readers. We aim to

• Develop each child so that they are able to read with fluency, good understanding and expression
• Develop a love of reading that will stay with children throughout their lives
• Take inspiration from reading a variety of excellent literature to support them to be confident and expressive writers

We teach reading, both explicitly and through our wider curriculum, and we ask parents/carers to be our partners in this and support by reading specifically chosen material that we provide with their children at least 5 days in every week.
