Aspire Believe Achieve
Punctuality and attendance are so important in school. As we have said many times before, if your child is late for school it can take them all day to retrieve their concentration and, in some cases they never get it back at all.
Please ensure that your child is at school for 8.45am. Every class starts their day with an exciting bang and if they arrive after 9.15 am they will have missed vital information which will affect their learning.
To make our school the best, parents can help by making sure our children come to school everyday and are on time too. We are going to all work together to make our attendance go up to 96% (outstanding) and get even higher.
Message from Alison Small, Headteacher
At Crane Park Primary School, we are committed to supporting every child’s learning and development. One of the most important factors in your child’s success at school is regular attendance. Being in school every day helps children build strong routines, engage fully in their learning, and form positive relationships with their peers and teachers.
However, we understand that there are times when children are unwell and it is best for them—and others—that they stay home to rest and recover.

If you're ever unsure, we encourage you to consult with your GP or call NHS 111 for advice.
Why Attendance Matters:
Every school day matters. Absences, even if occasional, can lead to gaps in learning, missed opportunities for social development, and increased anxiety about catching up. We are here to help if your child is experiencing any challenges that affect their attendance.
If your child is struggling with illness frequently or you are finding it difficult to manage attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us—we are here to support your family.
Thank you for working with us to ensure your child can make the most of their education.
Thank you for your continued support.
Message from our Attendance Officer
Dear Parent/Carer
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Debbie Piper and I am the Attendance Officer for Crane Park Primary School.
I want to work with all parents/carers to improve the attendance level of our children in order for them to realise their full potential. The school is expected to achieve an attendance level of at least 96% in line with Government guidelines. Any absence, including lateness, affects the pattern of learning for all children.
Attendance
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school you will need to contact us as soon as possible on the first day of absence. If you do not contact us, we will contact you by phone. Please ensure we have an up to date telephone number for our records.
Ensuring your child’s regular attendance at school is your legal responsibility.
Authorised absences include:
Permitting unauthorised absence from school is an offence and may result in a Fixed Penalty Notice and/or prosecution. By law, every absence has to be classified by the school as either Authorised or Unauthorised. Therefore, it is imperative that we are informed of the reason for any absence.
